How to commission a painting?

Commisions are limited and accepted only a few times each year. Many people have specific space requirements, special places that would need a particular color or favorite flowers in mind.
I only work with FLORA and BUTTERFLIES. good reference photos to work from to get a clear idea what my customer has envisioned will be needed.
Working in sizes 16x20 inches or larger is my happy place.
The next step after having discussed your idea, is to exchange photos (email). After we've agreed on a photo or combination of photos we both think would make a great painting, then we will discuss the size of the canvas that would work best in your home and a timeline for completion.
Paintings are shipped WORLDWIDE via UPS and you will be provided tracking info immediately on
shipment. A solid shipping estimate before we begin based on size of canvas and destination, so you
can feel totally confidant about the entire process before making your decision.
Paintings are shipped unframed, rolled and layered in protective paper and sturdy non crushable
tubing.
Once all the details have been agreed upon, a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of 50% is required to
begin the sketching and painting. Sketches and color samples, via email, will be provided before
the painting begins.
There are 2 changes allowed in sketch composition and colors per contract, BEFORE PAINTING.
Watercolors are unlike other mediums, once color is applied it cannot be removed and changed.
Pictures will be provided at the mid point of the process via email.
The balance is due upon your viewing and approval of the final images I send, and before shipping.
We will work out all the details within a written contract, before work is begun so there will be no
surprises, and it's a great experience for both of us.
A general timeline for completion is usually about 4-8 weeks from the date you make your deposit
until YOUR piece is ready to ship, longer for very large watercolors.
Communication is key, so I always ask lots of questions before begining.I believe this is why I have so many satisfied collectors.
'Commissioning a painting is a shared journey between you and the artist. The result of which is the creation of a new gorgeous art piece that will live on longer than you or I. It will light up your home and elevate your space in a very special way. How great is that? I love the process!
There are a limited number of commission opportunities each year, and indeed, in my lifetime!
I do not reproduce any commissioned pieces. It's one of a kind, and yours exclusively, forever!

Thanks ever so much,
