A Bespoke Watercolor Commission Created Exclusively for You
Every home has its own personality, and every collector has a unique vision. Whether you are seeking a statement piece for a special space, a specific color palette to complement your interior, or wish to feature favorite flowers and butterflies that hold personal meaning, your painting will be thoughtfully designed to reflect your individual aesthetic.
To begin, I invite you to share your ideas and inspiration. Clear reference photographs are essential, as they allow me to fully understand and interpret your vision. Together, we will select the images—or combination of images—that will serve as the foundation for your custom artwork.
Once the concept has been refined, we will discuss the ideal canvas size for your space. To achieve the greatest visual impact and level of detail, commissions are typically created at 16" x 20" or larger.
The Commission Process
Following our initial consultation, we will exchange reference photographs via email. After agreeing on the final composition, I will recommend the canvas dimensions best suited to your home and provide a projected timeline for completion.
Every commission is approached with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to creating a truly exceptional work of art.
Exclusive Collaboration
A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your place on my commission calendar and allows work to begin on preliminary sketches and color studies. Before painting commences, you will receive sketches and color samples for approval.
Two rounds of refinements to composition and color palette are included during this design phase.
Watercolor is a remarkable medium known for its luminosity and spontaneity. Because pigments become permanently integrated into the paper, all design decisions must be finalized before painting begins.
Throughout the creative process, I will share progress images, including a detailed update at the midpoint of the painting.
The remaining balance is due once you have reviewed and approved the completed artwork, prior to shipment.
Worldwide Delivery
Original paintings are collected and enjoyed throughout the world. Your artwork will be professionally packaged, carefully rolled in protective archival materials, and shipped in durable, crush-resistant tubing.
Worldwide shipping is available through UPS, and tracking information will be provided immediately upon dispatch.
Prior to beginning your commission, you will receive a shipping estimate based on the size of the artwork and destination, ensuring complete transparency and confidence throughout the process.
Timeline
Most commissions are completed within 4–8 weeks from receipt of deposit, although larger and more complex works may require additional time.
Because each painting is created entirely by hand and receives my full attention, I accept only a limited number of commissions each year.
A Legacy Piece
Commissioning an original painting is a deeply personal and rewarding experience. It is a creative partnership between artist and collector that results in something far more meaningful than décor alone.
The finished artwork becomes a lasting heirloom—one that enriches your home, reflects your personal story, and can be treasured for generations.
Every commissioned painting is completely unique.
I never reproduce commissioned works in prints or duplicate them for future sale. Your painting remains one-of-a-kind and exclusively yours, forever.
Communication is at the heart of every successful commission. I take the time to ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully, and ensure every detail reflects your vision. This collaborative approach is one of the reasons so many collectors return to commission additional pieces.
